Today’s lunch is homemade pizza because I’m so out of idea what to cook for the girls. When I picked them up at 2:30 pm tadi, the first question that pop up as soon as they entered the car was “What’s for lunch?” and when I told them pizza, everybody shouted “Yeay!”. Sofea then said, ” Tadi I hoped that you cook something that I love… and pizza is one of them!”…. something that she loves does not include rice, kalau cakap masak nasi, ayam goreng and kari… response kurang memberangsangkan! OK, lets talk about the recipe… this pizza dough recipe I got it from Mat Gebu’s blog but I did alter a bit after watching Food Network Channel. You can check the original recipe here. Topping is purely up to you!
300 g flour
6 g instat yeast
2 tbsp olive oil (original recipe uses 20 g butter)
10 g sugar
1 tsp bread improver (optional)
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 tbsp honey
170 ml water
Prego tomato sauce
Dough :- Place all ingredients in the Bread Maker, select “DOUGH” function and press ON.
Pizza :- Heat the oven to 190C. Take out the dough from the BM and divide it into 2 balls. Take one ball of dough and flatten it with your hands on a slightly floured work surface. Starting at the center and working outwards, use your fingertips to press the dough to 1/2-inch thick. Brush the top of the dough with olive oil (to prevent it from getting soggy from the toppings). Lightly sprinkle your flat baking sheet with corn meal ( since I don’t have corn meal, I just used bread crumbs). Transfer one prepared flattened dough to the baking sheet. Spoon on the tomato sauce, sprinkle with cheese, and place your desired toppings on the pizza. Bake pizza one at a time until the crust is browned and the cheese is golden, about 10-15 minutes.
