Today dok teringat apple pie McDonald and since I did see this simple recipe from Mat Gebu’s blog, I decided to give it a try.
Ingredient for filling 🙂
- 2 Green apples, peeled, halved, cored, cut into 1/8-inch-thick slices ( I used Fuji apples)
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 2 1/2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 50 g butter
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3/4 tbsp cornflour
- pinch of salt
Other ingredient 🙂
- Puff pastry
- Egg + 1/2 tsp vanilla, mix together
Apple filling :- Heat up butter in a pan and then add in apples, raisins, cinnamon stick and brown sugar. Stir until sugar dissolve and apple soften. Add in corn flour, salt and lemon juice and cook until the filling thicken. Set aside to cool.
Apple Pie :- Take one slice of puff pastry and cut into 2. Place the filling onto one of the pastry and cover with another and slit evenly to let steam escape. Seal the top and bottom pastry by pinching the edges together. Brush the pie with egg and vanilla mixture. Bake at 190C for 25 minutes.
